Oracle SUN explorer is a collection of shell scripts and binary executable gathers information and creates a detailed snapshot of Oracle Sun system configurations and state. - pkg update of support/explorer might refuse to update to a certain version

The Explorer package is also included from Solaris 11.3 GA onwards
Package support/explorer gets installed by default with these package groups

pkg://solaris/group/system/solaris-small-server
The support/explorer packages can be installed or updated from Solaris repository.
